Catch Me If You Can! was created for Harcourt Brace's School Division and also chosen to be a "Green Light Reader," part of Harcourt's newly-launched series for new readers. It's about a little dinosaur who teases the biggest dinosaur of them all: "Catch me if you can!"
The other dinosaurs were afraid of the biggest dinosaur, but not the little dinosaur. She wasn't afraid. She didn't run. She didn't hide. "Catch me if you can!" she called. She wasn't afraid of his great big tail. She wasn't afraid of his great big claws. She wasn't afraid of his great big feet. And most of all, she wasn't afraid of his great big teeth!
At the end of the book, the biggest dinosaur does catch her. But it's OK. She's not scared, because the biggest dinosaur is her grandpa! I enjoyed working on this project, and what makes this book really special for me is that the year Catch Me If You Can! was published is the year my wife and I became grandparents! I can't wait to read the big book version of Catch Me If You Can! to our granddaughter, Samantha.
